A extremely condensed version of Ft.Worth

Hey its Mary, here is what Adam and I did in Ft. Worth (in a nutshell).

The Stockyards
After we got to Heather and Shawns house (where we stayed) we picked up the kids (Adams cousins) and the plan was to go to a place called "The Stockyards". We made it, but only after a confusing game of LETS CHECK OUT FT.WORTH! Nobody actually knew where the stockyards were. We just had a rough estimate of where they might be. But Meagan (with Adams phone) guided us there in one piece. Thanks Meagan. We ran around the stockyards (well walked in that extremely slow texas pace) and checked out all the stores and stood outside at bar at one point. I don't exactly know why we were standing outside a bar, but I do remember looking at a poster advertising a New Years eve party at this bar. Let me tell you, there is ONE bathroom in the stockyards and its at the very end of this LONG building. By the time I found the bathroom I was lucky I hadn't wet myself. Words of wisdom, use the bathroom before you go.

Edelweiss German Restraunt
After we left the Stockyards we met Heather back at home and we all went out to this German Restraunt called Edelweiss. It was pretty good. They have this cabbage stuff that tastes like barbeque sauce. They said it wasn't barbeque, but I think they're on crack, cause I think it was. And we got them to sing Happy Birthday to Adam (much to his dismay). FUN! Anyway, we left there and went to visit Shawn (I went to meet Shawn) and bought some beer and went home. WHAT A DAY!

Starbucks
For those of you who know Adam (even a little bit) know that he is crazy about Starbucks. So almost every morning and some times in between we went to starbucks. We had more starbucks that week than we did while we were in Chicago. If you ever go anywhere with Adam, expect to go to atleast 2 different starbucks'. And Adam even maps out the starbucks in the current city you're in. He's a wealth of information.

Comedy club
New Years eve we went to this comedy club. I not only forgot the name of the club, but the performer. The funny thing is that I got this green drink that glows. It tasted like crap but it GLOWS! I had to get 2. haha. It was a pina colada type drink. Hopefully I can get Adam on here for a little bit more information on this. Anyway the comic had his little brother opening for him. The main comic was doing this bit with a guitar and he was comparing songs from the 60s and 70s to the songs now. It was really interesting.

Brazilian Steak House
So we went to this brazilian steak house. Heather told us it was going to be expensive, boy was she RIGHT! We had this buffet type thing first and you had side dishes and salad stuff too. Then we sat down and when we were ready we turned over these little cards (green on one side, red on the other) from red to green. And then all these people started appearing from no where. We had these little tongs that we were supposed to grab the meat with. If your card is on green it means you want more meat, but if its on red it means no more meat. Well at one point I was being bombarded with puffy pant wearing, skewer weilding, courteous men with lots of meat. Shawn saved my life by turning my card to red. Thanks Shawn.

Movie Theater
They have the strangest most fascinating movie theater I've ever seen. They serve food, ACTUAL FOOD, at this place. And the seats were kinda like office chairs. They rolled and swivelled and leaned back, it was amazing. We went to go see I am Legend. Let me tell you what, I'm glad I saw it, I won't see it again. I'm gonna have to figure out how to get this crazy movie theater here in Tulsa. I LOVED IT!

Dallas
Dallas was a bit of a bust. We decided the day before we left to go hang out in Dallas for an evening. Well what we ended up doing is driving around downtown Dallas for several hours then heading back to Ft. Worth. We stopped at this steak house called Texas Land and Cattle. It wasn't bad. When the waitor came to greet us he gave us a "tour" of the menu. The prices were crazy, but nothing I hadn't seen before. When he asked if anything looked good, Adam said "I thinkI'm gonna finish the tour". It was funny. What a funny fellow, that Adam.

Ft.Worth Fun District
We went to this place in downtown Ft. Worth, I don't remember the name. Anyway, its a district of downtown with shops and restraunts and such. We ate at this hamburger place. It reminded me of a bar actually. I think the main part of it is a bar and the food was kind of an add on thing later in development. It was a bit like Fuddruckers except not nearly as commercialized.

Chicken Wings
So apparently Ft. Worth really enjoys their chicken wings. Heather and Shawn brought back some chicken wings. And there were all kinds of flavors. Its not just buffalo BABY! I was pretty AMAZING!!! :-) Anyway, they brought back about 8 different kinds of wings and ranch and bleu cheese dressing. And we sat and watched Breakfast Club while eating our wings.

I think there was more, but I cannot remember it. So I'll talk to Adam and have him get on here, post some pictures and give more details.

LATER!
